Braces Aren't Just for Teens Anymore

We are Your 5-Star Adult Braces Provider in the Lander Area

People oftentimes have the misconception that they are too old for orthodontic treatment, which is completely false. Here at Olsen Orthodontics, we believe that you are never too old to achieve the smile of your dreams. How exactly do we achieve that? Through braces! Braces are a great option for plenty of adults looking to straighten out their smiles and we are proud to offer both ceramic or “clear” braces, and traditional metal braces. Based on your particular needs, we will be able to recommend either one to you.

We are often asked “What is the difference in clear and metal braces”? Clear braces are much more discreet than metal braces while still providing the results that we know and love here at Olsen Orthodontics. They can be a great option for someone who doesn’t want metal braces, but who wants the smile of their dreams. We believe that a smile can change a life, and we are here to meet all of your smile needs. We hope you take some time to explore more about braces for adults, and we look forward to seeing you at your complimentary consultation!

Adult Braces FAQ

What You Should Know About Braces Treatment at Olsen Orthodontics

Our adult patients typically have a lot of questions about braces treatment. How will braces affect my day-to-day life? Will I be limited to what I can eat? How can I continue proper oral hygiene with braces? All of these are very valid questions that we would love to answer for you.

We have taken some time to answer some of our most frequently asked questions about braces treatment for adults to the right. We hope you find what you’re looking for, but if you don’t, please call us as we’d love to help answer any and all of your questions!

What are braces?

Braces are metal or ceramic brackets that we bond to your teeth and connect with an archwire. This archwire helps to gently guide your teeth into a more preferred placement.

How long will I have to wear my braces?

Every smile is unique, so the length of your orthodontic treatment will be dependent upon your specific smile needs!

How do I keep up my oral hygiene with braces?

We recommend brushing after every meal, or three times a day with braces. We also recommend flossing regularly to help keep your teeth and gums healthy!

Do I still need regular dental checkups with braces?

Yes, you should definitely still go to your dentist regularly even though you have braces! They will be able to help you maintain excellent oral hygiene!

Will my braces hurt?

While you might feel a bit of discomfort with your braces, they definitely won’t hurt! The discomfort arises as your teeth gradually begin to shift into place.

Will I be limited to what I can eat?

While there are some limitations to what you can eat, there are not many! When you get your braces on, Dr. Olsen will go over a list of foods you should avoid.

Will braces affect my speech?

While it might take some time to get used to talking with braces on, there will be no long term effect on your speech.
